Giles was an amazing friend and had a heart of pure gold. I cannot think of a time he ever spoke badly of anyone, but can think of hundreds of times he went the extra mile for me or any of his other friends. He was there whenever you needed him — and we are here for you. Always. I wish I'd known Giles longer (it was never explained how we'd managed to go through so much of school before meeting), and I am heartbroken I cannot spend any more time with him. Speaking to others today, I got exactly the same feeling every time genuine, deep admiration and respect. He rose above it all, never arrogant or unkind, but calm, wise and with a great sense of humour — giving so much to the people he cared about and without ever complaining. I will miss him more than words can really express.
